Guidelines for teachers conduct in classroom
Professional Conduct

- Rules & Expectations: Establish and communicate classroom rules and expectations to children. If possible, make a daily-reminder chart.

Communication
- Clear Instructions: Provide clear instructions and explanations to ensure smooth functioning in class; confirm students have understood.
- Active Listening: Listen attentively to students and respond thoughtfully. Half of their confidence develops when teachers listen with interest.
- Regular Feedback: Offer constructive feedback on progress. Use the sandwich method: positive → scope for improvement → encouragement.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Fair Assessment: Develop impartial, valid, and reliable assessments. Avoid “pet-child” bias.
- Transparent Grading: Clearly explain grading criteria and provide timely feedback.

Confidentiality and Boundaries
- Maintain Confidentiality: Protect student privacy. Do not discuss any child’s shortcomings; discuss remedial measures only with school authorities.
